Freight Forwarding Services in Saudi Arabia

Your single point of contact for air, sea and land freight — arranged, documented and delivered.

A freight forwarder is the partner who plans and manages your shipment’s entire journey, not just one leg of it. As a trusted freight forwarder in Saudi Arabia, TQM International selects the right carriers, coordinates air, sea and land freight, and prepares every document your cargo needs to cross borders without delay.

Instead of negotiating separately with airlines, shipping lines, truckers and customs brokers, you work with one team. We consolidate cargo for better rates, track every leg of the journey, and keep you informed from pickup in Saudi Arabia to final delivery anywhere in the world.

A freight forwarder plans and manages the whole international journey rather than one leg of it. We book the space, prepare and check the documents, coordinate customs clearance through licensed brokers, and deliver inland by road — so one contact owns the shipment from your supplier's door to yours.

Sea freight moves the volume. Jeddah Islamic Port and King Abdullah Port serve the western region and Riyadh from the Red Sea; King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam and the industrial ports at Jubail and Yanbu serve the Gulf side. We arrange full container load for whole containers, less-than-container load for smaller consignments consolidated with other shippers, and breakbulk or flat-rack for cargo that will not fit a box. Transit is typically three to five weeks from China and Southeast Asia, one to two from India, two to three from Europe.

Air freight buys speed. King Khalid International in Riyadh, King Abdulaziz International in Jeddah and King Fahd International in Dammam handle inbound and outbound air cargo, priced per chargeable kilogram — the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight. Airport to airport is usually one to two days; door to door two to four including clearance and delivery. It earns its premium for spare parts, pharmaceuticals, electronics, perishables and anything where a stopped line costs more than the freight.

The part that decides whether a shipment runs smoothly is documentation. Saudi imports need the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or air waybill, certificate of origin, SABER conformity certificates for regulated products and SFDA approval for food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and medical devices. We check all of it before the cargo departs origin, because an error caught at the supplier costs an email and an error caught at Jeddah costs demurrage.

FAQ

Common questions

What does a freight forwarder do?

A freight forwarder arranges the transportation of your cargo on your behalf — selecting carriers, coordinating air, sea and land legs, preparing documentation and managing customs clearance — so you deal with one partner instead of many.

Can you arrange multimodal shipments?

Yes, we coordinate air, sea and land freight together when a shipment needs more than one mode to reach its destination efficiently.

Do you handle customs clearance?

Yes, our team prepares and manages export and import documentation and customs clearance for every shipment.

Should I ship by air or sea?

Sea for volume and anything not urgent — three to five weeks from Asia, two to three from Europe, at a fraction of the cost. Air for urgent, high-value or perishable cargo, one to three days door to door. Many customers use sea for regular replenishment and air for launches, shortages and samples.

What is the difference between FCL and LCL?

Full container load means the container is yours alone — cheaper above roughly 12 to 15 cubic metres, faster because there is no consolidation, and handled less. Less-than-container load shares a container with other shippers, which suits small consignments but adds consolidation time and per-cubic-metre charges at both ends.

Which documents does a Saudi import need?

Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or air waybill, certificate of origin, SABER conformity certificates for regulated products, and SFDA approval for food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Values and package counts must agree across all of them.

How long does customs clearance take?

One to two days after arrival when documents are complete and no inspection is triggered. Missing SABER certificates, HS code errors or valuation queries extend that to days or weeks — which is why we review documents before the cargo leaves origin.

How much duty and VAT will I pay?

Customs duty depends on the HS code, commonly 5 to 15 percent, calculated on the CIF value; VAT of 15 percent applies on the value plus duty. GCC-origin goods with a valid certificate of origin are duty-exempt. We confirm the figures for your commodity before you commit.

Can you handle the inland leg as well?

Yes — container haulage from Jeddah, Dammam or Jubail to your warehouse anywhere in the Kingdom, or de-stuffing near the port and forwarding the cargo by road. It is the same booking and the same point of contact.
