One box, ten boxes or fifty? The right option between Riyadh and Jeddah changes with the count. Here is how to choose.
Riyadh and Jeddah are the Kingdom's two largest markets, and small businesses constantly ship boxes between them — stock for a second branch, wholesale orders, samples and returns. The cheapest and fastest option depends on how many boxes you send and how heavy they are.
One to five boxes: courier
For individual cartons up to about 30 kg each, next-day courier is the simplest choice. Book online, print the labels, and the courier collects from your door. Pricing is by actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher, so use snug boxes.
Five to twenty boxes: consolidated courier or partial load
At this volume, ask for a consolidated rate: the boxes travel together as one consignment, reducing the per-box price. Alternatively, stack the boxes on a pallet and ship as one LTL pallet, which is often cheaper once total weight passes 100 to 150 kg.
Twenty or more boxes: LTL pallets
Palletise the boxes (roughly 20 to 40 cartons per pallet depending on size), shrink-wrap and label. LTL transit Riyadh to Jeddah is two to three days, and handling by forklift is gentler on heavy cartons than parcel sorting.
Regular high volumes: FTL or dedicated fleet
If you fill several pallets every week, a scheduled FTL or a dedicated vehicle gives next-day delivery and the lowest cost per box.
Packing and labelling tips
- Use new double-wall cartons for anything over 10 kg.
- Tape in an H pattern and remove old labels.
- Print labels with the consignee's mobile number and district.
- Number multi-box consignments (1 of 12, 2 of 12…).
Transit and tracking
Courier: next business day. LTL: two to three days. FTL: next day. All options include tracking and proof of delivery.
