NEOM Logistics & Project Cargo Delivery

Heavy haulage, project cargo and scheduled road freight into NEOM and the Tabuk region.

NEOM is the largest construction programme in the Kingdom, and its logistics problem is a scheduling problem before it is a trucking problem. Thousands of items — pre-cast modules, steel, transformers, generators, chillers, pipe, plant and consumables — have to arrive at a remote north-west site in the order construction needs them, not in the order they were ordered.

TQM International moves project and general cargo into NEOM and the wider Tabuk region from our Riyadh base and from the Kingdom's gateways. Standard trailers carry palletised and packaged materials; flatbeds and extendables take steel, pipe and long items; lowbeds and modular hydraulic trailers handle plant and heavy single items that exceed ordinary trailer limits.

Two things decide whether a delivery to a giga-project site lands cleanly. The first is permits and route planning: oversized and heavy loads need authority permits specifying route and timing, often escort vehicles, and a route survey checking bridge clearances, overhead cables, roundabout radii and road works. Allow one to two weeks for a standard oversized move, longer for convoys. The second is site procedure: gate controls, safety inductions, booked delivery slots, and cranes reserved in advance — coordinate those and a truck delivers; skip them and it queues for days.

Because construction readiness rarely matches supplier lead times, laydown storage matters as much as transport. We buffer arrivals in Riyadh or near the gateway port and release to site against the construction schedule, so the site is not paying to store what it cannot install yet.

Project logistics services for NEOM and the north-west

Heavy & oversized haulage

Lowbeds, extendables and modular hydraulic trailers for plant, transformers and long items.

Permits & route surveys

Authority permits, escorts and surveys for bridge clearance, cables and road works.

Laydown storage

Buffer stock in Riyadh or near the gateway and release to site against the build schedule.

Site delivery coordination

Gate passes, safety inductions, booked slots and crane coordination at both ends.

Coverage

How cargo reaches NEOM

Port of NEOM

The project's own sea gateway, with a container terminal and RoRo, bulk and project-cargo handling — the shortest route for equipment arriving by sea.

Jeddah & King Abdullah Port → NEOM

For cargo landed on the Red Sea further south, then moved north by road under permit where the load is oversized.

Riyadh → NEOM

Long-haul road freight from the central region, typically routed via Al Qassim and Tabuk. Allow multiple days and plan fuel and rest stops.

Tabuk region

The regional centre for the north-west, serving both NEOM and the surrounding developments with general and project freight.

Duba & the Red Sea coast

Coastal access for cargo and equipment moving along the north-western seaboard.

Laydown & buffer storage

Riyadh or gateway-adjacent storage, released to site against construction readiness rather than supplier lead time.

FAQ

Common questions

Do you deliver to NEOM construction sites?

Yes — project and general cargo into NEOM and the wider Tabuk region. Site deliveries need gate passes, safety inductions and booked slots, and internal site roads may be unpaved, so tell us the contractor, gate and permit requirements at booking and we coordinate with the site logistics team before the truck leaves.

How much notice do you need for an oversized load?

Allow one to two weeks for a standard oversized or heavy movement, and longer for multi-vehicle convoys or loads over 100 tonnes. That covers the authority permit, the route survey for bridge clearances and overhead cables, and arranging escorts and any night-movement requirement.

Can you store materials until the site is ready to receive them?

Yes, and on a giga-project it is usually the right answer. We buffer arrivals in Riyadh or near the gateway port and release to site against the construction schedule, so you are not paying site storage for equipment that cannot be installed for weeks.

What is the best route for equipment arriving by sea?

Port of NEOM is the shortest where the sailing allows it, with container, RoRo, bulk and project-cargo handling. Cargo landed at Jeddah or King Abdullah Port moves north by road, which for oversized items means permits and a surveyed route — so the routing decision is worth making before the vessel is booked.

Do you handle the heaviest items — transformers and modules?

Yes. Lowbeds and semi-lowbeds cover plant and machinery, extendables take long items such as pipe and beams, and modular hydraulic trailers combine for transformers and loads beyond 100 tonnes. Each needs a lift plan and lashing plan, and cranes booked at both ends.

Do you cover Tabuk and the north-west generally, or only NEOM?

The whole region. Tabuk is the regional centre and we run general and project freight there as well as into NEOM, plus Duba and the Red Sea coast.
